CATCH A BRAND OF HOLLAND HAAG, THEN AND NOW

Holland Haag has always been a family business. Meanwhile the 5th generation has taken office within the company. Below are some dates which represent the benchmark of the history.

1895   Founding of the company in The Hague.

1918   The company starts as Wholesale of home textiles, named “Handelsverenigung Holland” in The Hague.

1925

7 years later, in 1925, the building at the Lutherse Burgwal in The Hague opened its doors.

1933

In 1933 opened the branch in Amsterdam, at the Nieuwezijds-voorburgwal, having the name “Handelsvereniging Holland”. However it appeared that this name already exists and it was adjusted to Holland Haag. That’s how the name Holland Haag was born.

1950   Opening of the branch in Alkmaar, an acquisition of the initial company Luyting. During the subsequent years a lot happened. The building at the lutherse burgwal was first expanded.

1953   Opening of the branch in Groningen.

1954   Opening of the branch in Arnhem.

1962

From 1962 on the need in one central warehouse existed. The central warehouse came, was opened in Utrecht, and extended 4 years later.

1975

The branch in Gouda opened in 1975. During the following years this branch became the central office of Holland Haag. The same year the building in Utrecht was sold. The years which followed led to the centralization of Holland Haag, and the buildings in Den Haag, Amsterdam, Alkmaar and Groningen were sold. From that moment on until today is Holland Haag based in Gouda.
